Ductless mini split systems provide cooling and heating but without the ducts. The central air conditioning systems were more popular previously but many advantages of the mini split air conditioners are making them equal contenders of HVAC market. Because this technology is newer than central air conditioning, that is why people are less aware of its components and functions. Here we will explain how it works.
Components
There are two units involved in ductless mini split unit.
- Indoor Unit
- Outdoor Unit
The two units are connected through a small pipe for the delivery of the air. No ducts are involved in this process.
Function
The ductless air conditioning Swindon systems provide cooling and heating. The indoor unit is installed inside the room while the outdoor unit is installed outside in the open air. In central air conditioning unit the unit is installed in another place and the air is circulated through the ducts. But in the mini split system the actual provider of the cooling and heating is in the room in the shape of indoor unit. The indoor unit takes the inside heat and the compressor blows the heat out. In the heating mode the function is reversed and warm air is produced. Mini split system provide the targeted cooling and heating that is why it is more efficient with no cold and hot spots.
Application
Ductless mini split can be installed in small rooms and also in bigger spaces. One unit is required for one room; however, multiple indoor units can be attached to one outdoor unit to provide air conditioning to multiple zones.
Thus, mini split systems work just like traditional air conditioning Exeter systems but without duct work and more efficiently.
